EPISODE BREAKDOWN: On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin remarks on a push by Congress to redefine what it means to be a journalist as a way to exclude independent media from being awarded protections against revealing sources. Abby then speaks to former Salt Lake City Mayor, and 2012 Justice Party Presidential Candidate Rocky Anderson, about the Syria crisis, and NSA Spying. And with all eyes on Syria, Abby calls out the corporate media for failing to report on other important issues such as immigration reform and lawmakers attempting to extend legislation that shields Monsanto from future lawsuits. BTS wraps up the show with an interview with Maryam Henein, investigative journalist and director of the film ‘The Vanishing of the Bees’ about a phenomenon known as Colony Collapse Disorder, which not only threatens honeybees, but a Billion food industry in the US.

November 30, 2015 at 2:43 AMWhy do we keep listening to these shills? They are only playing to the ears of people who oppose the NSA. Not to inform them, But to discover them, and expose them.

Global corporate fascism is what you'll get with either one of them though they mean well and have some good ideas they are in with the wrong crowd.

November 30, 2015 at 5:24 AMWell I don't agree, when you talking about foreign policy you shouldn't highlight just one side of the story. Because what happens when you've got 5 or 6 countries with extreme cold winters that are totally depending on one gas supplier (Russia). They (Russia) use that to undermine those countries their sovereigny otherwise they let them freeze to death. Now a pipeline through Syria could change that.

November 30, 2015 at 7:27 AMHe acts like what those slave-owning, women-hating, genocidal barbarians had to say matters to anyone who truly cares about humanity. He appeals to them like they're some kind of moral authority. He gives credence to the idea that amerika has a right to exist, which is a deeply racist notion put forth only by those who're apologists for genocide, chattel slavery, and imperialism.
