Political Correctness

From 2006. Jerry Jackson takes a look at politcal correctness on TV. This was supposed to be on Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe but the production company got scared because the subject. You’d think with the rise of mostly uncensored internet entertainment, TV companies would start to take more chances and be a little more daring to keep viewers, but no, they went in the other direction and made TV more bland and predictable than you ever thought was possible. It’s as if TV and major label music are engaging in a bland-off to see who can be the most utterly stale and unstimulating as possible in an attempt to sedate the population. There was one point in my animation career that I thought being on TV was equal to success. Like it was a step up from the internet. I’m glad I got over that.

…….Or maybe they just thought it was shit……

To be fair, there should be repercussions to causing most of the world's wars and genocides. Can't have it all, can't have it all.

I remembered my American teacher put me in detention for 3 days for painting ink on my face. That's just dumb, I didn't hurt anybody.

"Just by being burnt you are being racist." As absurd as it is, political correctness and liberalism has actually made stuff like this a reality, god knows how far we can last before shit gets violent.

Can't tell if this is right-wing or left-wing. Is it saying we should hate Asians and blacks more, or mocking the people who go "political correctness gone mad"?

Literally no one believes that noticing differences in skin colour and ethnicity equals racism. It's the context of those observations, what the person is saying through their observations, that makes racism. Many people who like to say racist shit seem to not understand what makes their comments racist; they believe it is merely acknowledging differences in people's appearances that offends others; that's not it. Folks can't just make insulting generalizations about marginalized groups and then call it an innocent observation. It amazes me how many people fail to see the distinction.

"I am not allowed to notice that you are Asian" – except in Rotherham where you are not allowed to notice people are Pakistani.
